Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has etched his name in football history by becoming only the seventh coach to win the UEFA Champions League trophy with two different clubs after PSG's emphatic 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in the 2025 final on Saturday.
The Spanish tactician, who previously guided Barcelona to Champions League glory in 2015 with a 3-1 win over Juventus in Berlin, has now delivered PSG their first-ever Champions League title in a dominant display at Munich.
PSG's commanding performance saw Desire Doue score twice, while Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Senny Mayulu each added a goal to complete the rout against the Serie A side.
Elite Company in European Football
With this achievement, Enrique joins an exclusive group of managers who have led two different clubs to European Cup/Champions League success:
- Carlo Ancelotti (AC Milan, Real Madrid)
- Pep Guardiola (Barcelona, Manchester City)
- Jose Mourinho (Porto, Inter Milan)
- Ernst Happel (Feyenoord, Hamburg)
- Jupp Heynckes (Real Madrid, Bayern Munich)
- Ottmar Hitzfeld (Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich)
- Luis Enrique (Barcelona, PSG)
Ancelotti remains the most decorated coach in the competition's history with five Champions League titles to his name.
The victory also saw Enrique equal Pep Guardiola's record in the competition, further cementing his status as one of the elite managers in European football.
Reports indicate that PSG's triumph sparked celebrations among fans, with unfortunate news of two fatalities during the post-match festivities.
Following the final, UEFA also announced the 2024/2025 Champions League Team of the Season, with PSG's Ousmane Dembele named Player of the Season for his performances throughout the campaign.
