Super Eagles winger Moses Simon has thrown his support behind Paris Saint-Germain ahead of their UEFA Champions League final clash against Inter Milan at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Saturday.
Simon, who plays for Ligue 1 club Nantes, believes a PSG victory would be significant not just for the club but for French football as a whole.
"Of course, being in the final is not new for them; it is their plan. I hope they would win it. This will not be just for them; it would be for France as well," Simon told Flashscore.
The Nigerian international expressed confidence in PSG's capabilities, drawing from his own experience facing the French champions. "PSG have all it takes to beat Inter Milan. I have played against them; they have quality players," he added.
Luis Enrique's PSG will be aiming to lift the prestigious trophy for the first time in the club's history, having previously reached the final in 2020 where they lost to Bayern Munich.
Their opponents, Inter Milan, enter the contest with a more decorated Champions League history, having won the competition three times previously, most recently in 2010 under José Mourinho.
The final represents a significant opportunity for PSG, who have invested heavily in pursuit of European glory over the past decade. Despite domestic dominance, the Champions League trophy has remained elusive for the Parisian club.
The match kicks off at the Allianz Arena in Munich, with millions of football fans around the world expected to tune in for what promises to be an enthralling contest between two of Europe's elite clubs.
