The Kano State Police Command has arrested 11 suspects in connection with a violent attack on residents of Medile Quarters, according to a statement released by police spokesperson SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa.
The suspects, reportedly armed with dangerous weapons, invaded the area where they attacked and injured innocent citizens before robbing them of their personal belongings. The police statement, issued to DAILY POST, confirmed that swift action by law enforcement led to the apprehension of all suspects involved in the incident.
SP Kiyawa stated that the arrested individuals are currently undergoing investigation, and upon completion, they will be charged to court for prosecution according to the law.
Police Commissioner Warns Against Thuggery
Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori has reiterated the Command's commitment to maintaining peace and order throughout Kano State. In the statement, CP Bakori issued a stern warning that all forms of thuggery will be dealt with decisively, emphasizing that those found culpable will face the full wrath of the law.
The Command has urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police to help maintain security across the state.
This arrest comes amid ongoing efforts by security agencies to curb violent crimes and ensure public safety in Kano State, which has seen various security challenges in recent months.
