Lobi Stars Football Club have announced a short break for players and officials following their disappointing 2024-25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaign that ended in relegation.

The Pride of Makurdi, who finished at the bottom of the league table, are expected to resume activities on Monday, June 9, 2025, as they begin preparations for life in the second-tier division next season.

In an official statement shared on the club's Facebook page, Team Manager Lawrence Adoga, speaking on behalf of Chairman Dr. Phillip Nongu and the board, communicated the decision to the team.

"Lobi Stars Football Club have declared 9th of June, 2025 as resumption date to begin preparation ahead of new season," the club announced. "He emphasized that any further updates or changes regarding the resumption and other matters will be duly communicated ahead of time."

The Makurdi-based side endured a difficult campaign, managing just six wins throughout the season, alongside 10 draws and 22 defeats. This poor run of form ultimately sealed their fate as they dropped to the lower division.

The club will now focus on restructuring and rebuilding as they aim to make a swift return to the top flight of Nigerian football in the upcoming season.
