Chelsea mounted an impressive comeback to defeat Real Betis 4-1 in the Europa Conference League final on Wednesday, overturning an early deficit with four unanswered goals.

Real Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini acknowledged that his team started strongly but couldn't maintain their advantage after tactical adjustments from Chelsea in the second half.

"We had a very good first half, we were the better side, scored a goal, and had a couple more chances," Pellegrini said in his post-match interview. "The game was heavily influenced by the changes. They hurt us more down that left flank."

Chelsea's goals came from Enzo Fernandez, Nicolas Jackson, Jadon Sancho, and Moisés Caicedo as they turned the match around in quick succession.

Injuries Disrupt Betis' Plans

Pellegrini highlighted how injuries disrupted his team's defensive organization, particularly on the left side where Chelsea found success.

"Ricardo Esgaio had the left side under control. They didn't trouble us there initially, but the injuries happened, and we couldn't maintain the rhythm we expected," the Chilean manager explained.

Despite the heavy scoreline, Pellegrini insisted that the final result didn't accurately reflect the competitive nature of the match: "They are a tough opponent. The final scoreline, 4-1, didn't reflect the true gap between the two teams."

The victory marks Chelsea's first Europa Conference League title, adding to their collection of European trophies that already includes Champions League and Europa League silverware.

For Real Betis, the defeat ends what had been an impressive European campaign, with Pellegrini's side falling at the final hurdle despite their strong start in the match.
