Armed bandits have killed multiple people, including a nursing mother and her two-week-old baby, while abducting approximately 100 residents during an attack on Dan Muntari village in Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The attack, which occurred on Tuesday evening, was reported by security analyst Bakatsine via social media platform X on Thursday.

"On Tuesday evening, bandits attacked Dan Muntari village in Danko Wasagu LGA, Kebbi State. They killed many people, including a woman who had given birth just two weeks earlier and her newborn baby. They also abducted at least 100 people," Bakatsine wrote.

As of the time of this report, authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the attack, leaving many questions unanswered about the exact number of casualties and the identities of those abducted.

This incident adds to the growing list of violent attacks in Nigeria's northwestern region, where armed groups have intensified raids on rural communities, resulting in deaths, kidnappings, and displacement of residents.

Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area has previously experienced similar security challenges, with bandits targeting remote villages that often have limited security presence.

The killing of a nursing mother and her newborn has particularly sparked outrage among Nigerians on social media, with many calling for improved security measures in vulnerable communities across the region.

BenriNews will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as official information becomes available from state authorities or security agencies.
