Seven people have been killed in a fresh attack on Mushere community in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, according to local sources.

The attack reportedly occurred on Tuesday night and appears to be connected to earlier violence in the area. A source familiar with the situation explained that the incident was "a fallout of Monday's attack and kidnap attempt which led to the death of a pastor, and another attack on a Fulani settlement."

According to the source, the assailants launched a second attack when community members attempted to bury victims of the previous violence. Security operatives were said to have immediately mobilized to the scene when alerted about the situation.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Plateau State Command, Alfred Alabo, stated that he was yet to receive details about the attack.

This latest incident adds to the concerning pattern of violence that has plagued parts of Plateau State in recent months, with communities in Bokkos LGA particularly affected by security challenges.

Authorities have yet to provide official confirmation of casualties or details about the perpetrators as investigations continue into the attack.
