Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke has urged Chelsea to make a move for Cristiano Ronaldo, insisting the Portuguese superstar is superior to all current attacking options at Stamford Bridge.

Ronaldo, who has already indicated his intention to leave Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr this summer transfer window, could be eyeing a return to European football despite being in the twilight of his career.

Speaking to Gamblingindustrynews, as reported by GOAL, Yorke expressed confidence in Ronaldo's continued ability to perform at the highest level.

"Yeah, why would you not? He [Ronaldo] can still do it. With his ambition and ability, if Chelsea are playing the way that they can and creating for him, he is still an incredible forward. I see no reason not to," Yorke stated.

The former Manchester United striker didn't mince words when comparing Ronaldo to Chelsea's current striking options, adding: "He is better than what Chelsea have currently got up front there. I can tell you that they're not the greatest team in that number nine position."

Ronaldo, who has enjoyed illustrious spells at Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus before moving to Al-Nassr, would bring unparalleled experience and goal-scoring prowess to the London club if such a transfer were to materialize.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner's potential availability has already sparked speculation about his next destination, with Chelsea now being suggested as a possible landing spot by Yorke.

Chelsea's striking department has faced criticism in recent seasons despite significant investment, and the addition of a proven goalscorer like Ronaldo could potentially address these concerns, even if only as a short-term solution.
