Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have arrested four suspected armed robbers in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, recovering multiple weapons during the operation.

According to a statement released on Sunday by Major Samson Zhakom, the media officer of the operation, the arrests were made during sustained security operations aimed at ridding Jos metropolis of criminal elements.

"Yesterday, troops on night patrol around Naraguta Area of Jos North LGA arrested two armed robbers with a pistol," Major Zhakom stated.

The operation continued into the early hours of Sunday when troops apprehended a notorious armed robber at Corner Shagari community in Jos North. The suspect was found in possession of one pistol and five rounds of 9mm ammunition.

Following preliminary interrogation of the suspect, security forces were led to another arrest at Massalachin Idi, Ali Kazaure community, also in Jos North. During a search of the criminal hideout, troops recovered an additional pistol loaded with five rounds of 9mm ammunition.

The media officer confirmed that the suspects are currently providing valuable information that could aid troops in conducting follow-up operations in the area.

This latest operation underscores the military's ongoing commitment to enhancing security across Plateau State, which has faced various security challenges in recent years.
