Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Napoli to join the Serie A champions in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The 33-year-old Belgian midfielder is set to become a free agent this summer after Manchester City declined to offer him a new contract at the Etihad Stadium.
According to Sky Sport Italy, De Bruyne "has given his okay" to Napoli, indicating his preference to join the Italian club ahead of other interested parties. The report further states that the midfielder has expressed that both he and his family are prepared to relocate to Italy.
While a formal contract agreement has not yet been finalized, Napoli, managed by Antonio Conte, are reportedly in pole position to secure De Bruyne's signature.
The Belgian international has attracted interest from several clubs, including Chicago Fire, Aston Villa, and others. De Bruyne has previously stated that he believes he can still perform at the highest level and has not ruled out the possibility of joining another Premier League club.
De Bruyne joined Manchester City in 2015 from Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg and has been instrumental in the club's success over the past decade, helping them secure multiple Premier League titles and other domestic honors.
His potential move to Napoli would mark a significant addition to the Serie A champions' squad as they look to defend their title and make an impact in European competitions next season.
