The Kebbi State Government has officially denied any involvement in the ongoing legal dispute between the People's Democratic Party (PDP) spokesperson, Alhaji Sani Dododo, and one Comrade Mohammed Usman Anache.
In a statement released on Friday, the government emphasized that the court case is strictly a personal matter between the two individuals and has no connection to Governor Nasir Idris or the state administration.
"We want to make it categorically clear to the good people of Kebbi State that His Excellency, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, is a true democrat who respects the rule of law," the statement read.
The government further clarified that it only became aware of the matter through public discussions and had no role whatsoever in initiating or influencing the court proceedings.
"This administration is not involved in the case and should not be linked to it in any way," the statement added.
The denial comes amid what appears to be growing tension between the ruling party and the opposition in Kebbi State. Earlier reports suggested that the PDP had accused the state government of using the courts to suppress opposition voices, though the government has now firmly rejected these allegations.
Political observers in the state are closely watching the situation as it unfolds, particularly given the broader context of opposition-government relations in Nigeria's democratic landscape.
