The Chairman of the Ekiti State Boxing Association, Hon. Israel Adesokan, has issued a motivational charge to the state's boxing team as they depart for the National Sports Festival, also known as Gateway Games 2025, in Ogun State.

In a statement released by the Association's Media Officer, Bernard Fagbemiro, Adesokan urged the boxers to remain focused and determined in their quest for medals at the prestigious sporting event.

"You are not just fighting for personal glory but also for the pride of Ekiti State," Adesokan told the athletes during their send-off ceremony in Ado-Ekiti. The chairman expressed confidence in the boxers' abilities and charged them to represent the state with honor at the national competition.

Coach Olusola Aderemi Austin, who leads the Ekiti boxing contingent to the festival, shared the chairman's optimism about the team's prospects. "I promise the Chairman and the good people of Ekiti State that our boxers will bring back gold medals from the National Sports Festival," he stated confidently.

"We have worked hard, and I have no doubt that our team will make Ekiti State proud," the coach added, highlighting the extensive preparation the boxers have undergone ahead of the competition.

The Gateway Games 2025, hosted by Ogun State, brings together athletes from across Nigeria to compete in various sporting disciplines, with boxing being one of the medal events where Ekiti State hopes to make a significant impact.
