The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has hosted a strategic reunion with former members of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) at the Presidential Lodge in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.
The gathering, aimed at strengthening party unity and fostering collaboration ahead of future political engagements, brought together key stakeholders from across the state.
Hon. Muhammed Sani Garba Tiggi, who represents Augie Local Government in the Kebbi State House of Assembly, was among the prominent figures who reaffirmed their continued loyalty to the APC and commitment to the state's development.
The significance of the meeting was underscored by the attendance of lawmakers from all 21 local government areas of Kebbi State, including the Deputy Speaker of the House, Honourable Samaila Bambu, the Deputy House Leader, Honourable Dan Goje, and other senior legislators.
Also present at the reunion were chairmen of local government councils, elected councilors, and top APC officials, making it a comprehensive gathering of the party's leadership structure in the state.
The reunion served as a platform to reinforce party unity, especially among stakeholders who transitioned from the CPC into the APC during the party's merger that formed the current ruling party at the federal level.
Political analysts view this reunion as a strategic move by the APC to consolidate its base in Kebbi State by reconnecting with its founding members from the CPC, one of the legacy parties that merged to form the APC in 2013.
The gathering comes at a time when political parties across Nigeria are beginning to position themselves for future electoral contests, with party unity and cohesion being crucial factors for success.
