Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has urged his former club to sign Nigeria international striker Victor Osimhen in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Speaking on Amazon Prime, Rooney praised the Nigerian forward, describing him as a "good striker" who would likely be available for transfer this summer.
"I would sign Victor Osimhen as the No. 9. I think he is a good striker and would possibly be available this summer," Rooney stated when asked which players Manchester United should target for their manager Ruben Amorim.
The former England captain didn't stop at recommending just Osimhen. He also suggested Manchester United should consider bringing back former goalkeeper David de Gea and signing Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
"I would probably sign David de Gea back. I think Manchester United have missed him and he could still do a very good job for United," Rooney explained.
On his third recommendation, he added: "The third one would be difficult but I would try to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace. I think he would have a really good impact on the club."
Manchester United have endured a disappointing Premier League campaign this season. However, they still have a chance to salvage something from their season as they prepare to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final on Wednesday.
This recommendation comes amid reports that Galatasaray is intensifying efforts to sign Osimhen permanently, following his loan spell with the Turkish club.
