Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), has issued a stern warning to his supporters in Kebbi State, urging them to avoid inflammatory political statements that could escalate tensions as the 2027 elections approach.

The caution was conveyed through a statement released by Mohammed Doka, Malami's Special Adviser on Media, specifically addressing musicians, social media influencers, and political loyalists who might be tempted to mock rivals or make divisive remarks.

"I want to appeal to our teeming supporters to focus on issue-based engagements. Comments that could threaten our democracy or national unity are unacceptable," Malami was quoted as saying in the statement.

Doka described the former minister as a peace-loving and law-abiding citizen who remains committed to promoting stability and harmony in Kebbi State.

The statement comes amid intensifying political activities and growing speculation about Malami's political future. Despite being linked to both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Malami has maintained that he remains a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and has not yet declared interest in any political office for the upcoming elections.

Political observers note that the timing of Malami's call for restraint is significant as positioning for the 2027 gubernatorial race in Kebbi State begins to take shape, with various political camps already mobilizing support.

The former Attorney-General's political influence in Kebbi remains substantial, and his eventual decision regarding the 2027 elections is expected to significantly impact the state's political landscape.
