The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared its intention to transform Nigeria's political landscape through a newly formed coalition with several prominent politicians ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement released on their social media platforms on Wednesday evening, the party emphasized that their coalition represents more than just political maneuvering.

"We're not here to play politics. We're here to build a future," the statement read. "ADC Coalition is more than a political movement, it's a gathering of minds committed to real change."

Political Heavyweights Join Forces

The coalition's official unveiling earlier on Wednesday attracted an impressive array of political heavyweights from across Nigeria's political spectrum. Notable figures present included former Senate President David Mark, former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Other prominent attendees included former APC National Chairman John Oyegun, former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, former Attorney General of the Federation Abubakar Malami, and former Senator Dino Melaye.

The coalition also attracted former Minister of Youth and Sports Solomon Dalong, media entrepreneur Dele Momodu, Senator Gabriel Suswam, Labour Party Senator Ireti Kingibe, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Emeka Ihedioha, and former Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar (retd.).

A Vision Beyond Traditional Politics

The ADC's statement further emphasized their commitment to substantive change rather than political theatrics. "We ask the hard questions. We build real solutions. We're not moved by hype, we're moved by purpose," the party declared.

Describing themselves as a "Coalition of Unity" that represents "Not a party. A people," the ADC called on Nigerians to join them in reasoning together to rebuild the nation.

The emergence of this coalition marks a significant realignment in Nigeria's political landscape as preparations for the 2027 general elections begin to take shape.
