The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has issued a firm directive to contractors handling various projects across Abuja to uphold high standards in their work delivery.

During an inspection tour conducted on Monday, Wike visited multiple ongoing construction sites that are scheduled for inauguration as part of activities marking President Bola Tinubu's second year in office.

The minister's inspection covered significant infrastructure projects including the 16-kilometre Inner Northern Expressway stretching from Idu to Dei Dei, which is being executed by Salini. He also assessed progress at the Jahi Interchange construction site, a project handled by Gilmor, designed to connect Wole Soyinka Way to the Murtala Mohammed Expressway.

"The contractors have assured us that they will meet the deadline. They are working day and night," Wike stated during the inspection. "I'm confident that within the next two weeks, the projects will reach finishing level. I'm impressed with both contractors, and what matters most is the quality of the work."

The minister expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work observed during his visit, commending the contractors for their round-the-clock efforts to meet established timelines.

These infrastructure developments form part of the FCT Administration's strategic initiatives to enhance transportation networks and urban connectivity in Nigeria's capital city under the current administration.
