The House of Representatives has declared that Nigeria is transitioning from potential to performance under the current administration, according to Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu.

Speaking at the inaugural National Policy Dialogue on the Legislative Agenda held in Abuja, Kalu unveiled the House's 8-pillar Legislative Agenda, which he said aligns with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

"This event remains a critical platform for policy engagement put together by legislators, policymakers, academics, civil society, and development partners to identify the nation's priority for legislative debate," Kalu stated.

The Deputy Speaker commended President Tinubu for his "transformative and visionary leadership" which he said is gradually bringing about reforms in fiscal restructuring and security. According to Kalu, these reforms "would eventually lay a resilient foundation for national prosperity."

He noted that the Tajudeen Abbas-led 10th House of Representatives has considered 1,059 bills across key sectors to support the administration's vision since its inauguration on June 13, 2023.

Kalu presented the House's Legislative Agenda 2.0, describing it as "a comprehensive framework structured into eight thematic pillars, crafted to align with the administration's national development goals."

The National Policy Dialogue brought together stakeholders from various sectors to discuss legislative priorities that would drive Nigeria's development agenda forward under the current administration.
