President Bola Tinubu has declared that criticism from opposition parties will not deter his administration from serving Nigerians, emphasizing that investment in critical infrastructure remains central to unlocking the country's full potential.

Speaking on Wednesday during the commissioning of arterial roads in the Katampe District of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Tinubu stated that his government would continue focusing on development despite detractors.

"Like any government, we want development, but how well we organize and execute them depends on us because you are there. We are there because of the trust you have in us," the President said while addressing attendees at the ceremony.

Infrastructure as National Priority

The commissioned project includes the Arterial Road N16 (Shehu Shagari Way) from Ring Road One (Nnamdi Azikiwe Way) to Arterial Road N20 (Wole Soyinka Road) and other connecting roads in the district.

Tinubu emphasized that infrastructure development is not a luxury but a necessity, describing it as "the bedrock of national competitiveness, growth, social integration and economic opportunity."

"This project represents more than a stretch of asphalt, it affirms our commitment to urban transformation under our Renewed Hope Agenda," he stated.

Renewed Hope Agenda in Action

The President highlighted that since assuming office in May 2023, his administration has been guided by a philosophy anchored on reform and regeneration. He noted that the newly commissioned corridor had remained underdeveloped for years despite its central role in the Abuja master plan.

According to Tinubu, only through coordinated investment in critical infrastructure such as roads, rail, power, healthcare, and education can Nigeria achieve its full potential.

The President also commended the Minister of FCT for peacefully relocating affected communities with appropriate compensation.
