Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has categorically denied the club's interest in signing Nigerian international striker Victor Osimhen, putting an end to persistent transfer rumors.
Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Turkish giants Galatasaray from Napoli, has been repeatedly linked with a potential move to Juventus in recent weeks. The 25-year-old striker reportedly has a €75 million release clause in his Napoli contract.
"I'm not interested in Osimhen. The rumors that you read in the Italian media are only to put pressure on us," Giuntoli told Derin Football in a recent interview. "Juventus does not want the player."
The statement is particularly noteworthy as Giuntoli previously worked as Napoli's sporting director and was instrumental in bringing Osimhen to the Italian club from French side Lille. Despite this prior working relationship, Giuntoli has made it clear that he has no intention of reuniting with the Nigerian striker at Juventus.
Osimhen's future remains a subject of intense speculation, with several Premier League clubs also reportedly interested in securing his services. Former Nigerian international Daniel Amokachi recently advised the striker to consider a move to the English top flight.
The Super Eagles forward has been in impressive form during his loan spell at Galatasaray, where he has quickly become a fan favorite. Some Turkish football pundits, including former international Nihat Kahveci, have suggested that the passionate support of Galatasaray fans could potentially convince Osimhen to extend his stay in Istanbul.
As the summer transfer window approaches, Osimhen's next destination remains uncertain, but Juventus appears to be firmly out of the running according to Giuntoli's latest comments.
