Turkish champions Galatasaray have intensified their efforts to sign Nigerian international striker Victor Osimhen on a permanent deal following their recent Turkish Cup triumph, according to renowned Galatasaray journalist Serhan Turk.

Abdullah Kavukcu, a key figure authorized to lead transfer negotiations at Galatasaray, has reportedly held important discussions with both Osimhen and his representatives. These talks included detailed financial negotiations, which have now been finalized, signaling a major step forward in the potential deal.

"Osimhen said he will stay," Türk was quoted as saying by habersarikirmizi. "But the support he receives—especially from Galatasaray fans during the upcoming match against Kayserispor—could prove decisive."

The journalist further revealed: "His hesitation is actually working in Galatasaray's favor as they push to convince him. They told him, 'We want to be at the transfer table. If you choose us, we will be happy together.'"

Osimhen, 26, is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Italian side Napoli, with his temporary deal set to expire this summer. The Nigerian forward, who recently helped Galatasaray secure the Turkish Cup and broke records in the process, is widely expected to leave Napoli permanently at the end of the season.

Despite Galatasaray's determination to retain his services, Osimhen has attracted significant interest from several top European clubs, including Juventus, Chelsea, and Manchester United, potentially complicating the Turkish club's efforts to secure his signature.

The striker has made a significant impact during his loan spell in Turkey, most recently scoring a brace as Galatasaray defeated Trabzonspor to win the Turkish Cup. With the league title still in sight, Galatasaray fans will be hoping their support in the upcoming fixtures might convince the Nigerian star to make Istanbul his permanent home.
