Over 3,000 residents from Imogbara, Odo-Ijesha, and Iperindo communities in Osun State benefited from comprehensive free healthcare services during Segilola Resources Operating Limited (SROL)'s 3rd Annual Community Medical Outreach held on August 22-23, 2025.

The two-day healthcare initiative marked a significant milestone with the introduction of SegunCare, a new program designed to provide continuous follow-up and support for residents with chronic conditions, ensuring that medical care extends beyond the outreach event.

Comprehensive Healthcare Services

Attendees received access to a wide range of medical services including surgical procedures, consultations with qualified doctors, eye examinations with free prescription glasses, and screening for various conditions including HIV, Hepatitis B & C, Tuberculosis, Diabetes, and Hypertension.

Additional services included basic laboratory tests, diagnostics, deworming for children, health education on disease prevention, and enrollment into the newly launched SegunCare program for ongoing treatment of chronic conditions.

Building on last year's success that reached nearly 2,000 residents, this year's outreach significantly expanded its impact, with 279 individuals now receiving ongoing support through the SegunCare initiative.

Breaking Stigma Around Chronic Conditions

Dr. Princewill Osuchukwu, SROL Medical Services Manager, highlighted the program's achievements: "Since its inception, this outreach has touched the lives of over 10,000 people, with more than 3,000 residents benefitting in just the past two days alone. The impact on their health and families cannot be overstated."

He emphasized the significance of SegunCare: "What makes this year different is the official launch of SegunCare. For those battling chronic conditions, including mental illnesses that are often stigmatized in this part of the world, care cannot cease after two days. With SegunCare, we are committed to walking the journey with them, starting with these 279 individuals."

Paul Obasanya, Chairman of Imogbara Community Development Agreement (CDA) committee, expressed gratitude for the initiative: "The medical outreach has been very successful, and the people deeply appreciate what Segilola Resources has done for them. The cost of drugs, tests, and surgeries is often out of reach for many, and this support has made a real difference in our communities."

Community leaders from all three beneficiary communities commended SROL for its consistency and dedication, noting that the annual medical outreach has become a dependable program that residents eagerly anticipate each year.

Through initiatives like the Annual Medical Outreach, SROL continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the wellbeing of its host communities through accessible, consistent, and quality healthcare services.
