Nigerian rapper and music executive, Olamide, has revealed that he finds being a record label executive much easier than being an artist, attributing this to his deep understanding of creative minds.

The YBNL boss made this revelation during a recent interview with popular YouTuber, Korty EO, where he discussed his dual role in the Nigerian music industry.

"It's way much easier for me being a music executive than an artist because I'm an artist so I've an understanding of the needs of creatives," Olamide explained.

"I know the way we think, I know the way we see things. I know when we are in an element. I know when we want to run mad. I know when we are getting high on our supply. I know when we are getting high on the fame, life, money and success. So, it's easier for me to deal with creatives. I try not to bite more than I can chew," he added.

When questioned about the ongoing debate regarding rappers transitioning to singing, Olamide responded with characteristic confidence: "You can't box me and call me a rapper— I love music."

Olamide has been instrumental in launching the careers of several successful Nigerian artists through his YBNL record label, including Fireboy DML, Asake, and Adekunle Gold, among others.

His ability to identify and nurture talent has established him as one of Nigeria's most successful music executives, while he continues to maintain relevance as an artist with over a decade in the industry.
