Celebrity auto dealer, Ikechukwu Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD, has reportedly been arrested at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos while attempting to travel to Qatar for his wedding with controversial self-acclaimed relationship expert, Blessing CEO.

According to reports, IVD was detained on Friday by the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions as he was preparing to leave the country. The arrest appears to be connected to ongoing legal proceedings related to the death of his late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna.

Media personality Stella Dimoko-Korkus confirmed the news on Saturday through an Instagram post, stating: "Domestic Violence case against him regarding his late wife is still in court. IVD is not supposed to leave Nigeria until the case is over."

Bimbo Ogbonna died in October 2022 from injuries sustained in a fire incident at their Lagos residence, which allegedly resulted from domestic violence. Following her death, the Lagos State Government charged IVD with one count of involuntary manslaughter in suit No LD/21055C/23.

The auto dealer's planned wedding to Blessing CEO has attracted significant attention on social media in recent weeks. Neither IVD nor Blessing CEO has made any public statement regarding the arrest at the time of this report.

This development highlights the serious nature of domestic violence cases in Nigeria and the legal consequences that can follow, even years after incidents occur. The case continues to generate discussion about accountability in domestic abuse situations among Nigerian celebrities.
