Experienced midfielder Chidiebere Nwobodo has made a sensational return to Rangers International FC, signing a two-year contract ahead of the 2025-26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

Nwobodo, who previously featured for the Flying Antelopes during the 2023-24 campaign, rejoins the Enugu-based club after a stint with Rwandan outfit APR FC in Kigali.

The midfielder brings substantial experience to coach Fidelis Ilechukwu's squad, having made 102 NPFL appearances and netted 16 goals before his move abroad. His return strengthens Rangers' midfield options as they prepare for domestic and potentially continental competitions.

Nwobodo was part of the Rangers team that clinched the NPFL title two seasons ago, contributing significantly to their championship-winning campaign. His familiarity with the club's philosophy and previous success makes him a valuable addition to the squad.

The signing comes as Rangers look to build a competitive team for the upcoming season. The Flying Antelopes will be aiming to reclaim the NPFL title after Remo Stars were crowned champions in the recently concluded season.

Meanwhile, defending champions Remo Stars will begin their title defense against Rivers United when the 2025-26 NPFL season kicks off.
