Stephen Jesam Emmanuel has described his recent transfer to Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) giants Rangers International FC as the fulfillment of a lifelong ambition, stating that joining the Flying Antelopes is "the dream of every footballer" in the local league.
Emmanuel, who completed his move from Nigeria National League (NNL) side Doma United, was unveiled by Rangers after impressing scouts during the 2025 NNL Super Eight playoff tournament held in Asaba.
Speaking at his unveiling ceremony, the talented youngster expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to join one of Nigeria's most storied football clubs.
"I'm really glad to have been able to convince the club's selectors of what I can do on the pitch," Emmanuel stated. "It is the dream of every footballer to pass through a big club like Rangers with a great record. I believe I will continue to do what the coaches and scouting team saw in me in my last club to help Rangers achieve its goals in the coming season and beyond."
The promising player caught the attention of Rangers' technical team with his performances for Doma United, demonstrating skills that convinced the Enugu-based club to secure his signature ahead of the upcoming NPFL season.
Rangers, one of Nigeria's most successful football clubs with a rich history in both domestic and continental competitions, continues its tradition of identifying and developing talented players from lower divisions.
Emmanuel's transfer represents a significant step in his career progression, moving from the second-tier NNL to the premier division where he will face heightened competition and exposure.
The Flying Antelopes are expected to challenge for honors in the upcoming NPFL season, with Emmanuel hoping to make a meaningful contribution to the team's campaign.
