The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has held a meeting with two All Progressives Congress (APC) governors in Abuja early Thursday morning.
The high-profile meeting involved Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State and Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, as confirmed by Wike's media aide, Lere Olayinka.
Olayinka disclosed the meeting via his Facebook page, stating: "Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and his Ebonyi State counterpart, Francis Nwifuru, during their visit to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in Abuja a few minutes ago."
While details of their discussions remain undisclosed, this meeting comes just weeks after Wike met with Julius Abure, the factional National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), at his Abuja residence. Abure had described that earlier meeting as a private visit, emphasizing that he reserved the right to meet with any public office holder.
The timing of these meetings has sparked interest in political circles, particularly as they occur amid ongoing political realignments across party lines in Nigeria's political landscape.
Wike, a prominent member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has maintained relationships across party lines since his appointment as FCT Minister in the APC-led federal government under President Bola Tinubu's administration.
Political analysts suggest these cross-party engagements could signal potential collaborations or strategic political positioning ahead of future electoral contests.
