The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a change of venue for its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for Thursday, July 24, 2025.
According to a statement released by the party's National Spokesman, Felix Morka, on Wednesday, the meeting will now take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa at 2:00 p.m., instead of the party's national secretariat in Abuja as initially planned.
Morka attributed the relocation to logistical reasons. "The All Progressives Congress (APC) announces that the meeting of the Party's National Executive Committee (NEC), scheduled to be held on Thursday, 24th July, 2025, will now take place at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The change of venue from the Party's National Secretariat – 40 Blantyre Street, Wuse II, Abuja – is due to logistical reasons," the statement read.
BenriNews reports that governors elected under the APC platform held a closed-door meeting in Abuja on Wednesday ahead of the Thursday NEC meeting. The preliminary gathering took place at the Imo State Governor's Lodge in Abuja, with Governor Hope Uzodimma, the Chairman of the All Progressives Governors Forum, serving as the host.
The NEC meeting comes at a critical time for the ruling party as it continues to strategize ahead of future political activities in the country. Political analysts suggest that key decisions regarding party structure and preparations for upcoming electoral challenges might be on the agenda.
