The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has launched a scathing critique of President Bola Tinubu's administration, describing it as a 'bad market' that has failed to deliver on its promises to Nigerians.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, made these remarks on Monday during an interactive session with journalists in Abuja, where he declared that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would be voted out in the 2027 general elections.

"This is a government that tells people to fast while they are feasting. No patriotic or humane Nigerian, no political group or party that truly feels the pain of the people, will support President Tinubu in 2027. His presidency is bad market," Ologunagba stated.

The opposition party revealed it is currently restructuring its internal systems to position itself as a credible and dependable alternative for Nigerians in the next general elections.

Economic Hardship and Insecurity Concerns

According to the PDP spokesman, the APC-led government has plunged Nigeria into worsening economic hardship, deepening insecurity, and growing despair among citizens. He emphasized that the PDP remains the only political platform with the national reach and institutional legacy capable of salvaging the country from its current predicament.

Ologunagba further accused the ruling party of losing touch with the grassroots, deliberately creating instability within opposition parties, and mismanaging the economy to the point where infrastructure and public services are collapsing nationwide.

The PDP also raised serious concerns about the deteriorating state of national security, citing recent killings in Plateau State and the reported assault on a PDP candidate from Anambra State in Abuja as evidence that insecurity has become "a new normal" under the current administration.

Grassroots Support Remains Strong

Despite challenges and defections at the elite level, Ologunagba maintained that the PDP's strength lies not in officeholders but in its loyal and resilient grassroots base across the country.

"Our strength is in the people. Despite elite defections, our grassroots membership remains intact. People are not defecting because of the hunger and insecurity they face. They are standing by the PDP because we connect with their reality," he added.

The opposition party's criticism comes at a time when many Nigerians are expressing dissatisfaction with the economic policies of the Tinubu administration, which have been characterized by rising inflation, fuel price increases, and the removal of subsidies that have significantly increased the cost of living.

As the political landscape continues to evolve ahead of the 2027 elections, the PDP appears determined to capitalize on public discontent to position itself as the preferred alternative to the ruling APC.
