The Interim National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, has raised serious concerns about the worsening insecurity in Nigeria, revealing that bandits have taken over his farmland in Kwara State.

Speaking to journalists in Ilorin on Tuesday, Abdullahi disclosed that he can no longer visit his farm located in parts of Kwara State including Patigi, Ifelodun, and Babanla due to the alarming increase in kidnapping and banditry activities in these areas.

"Kwara State used to be one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria, but now, it's no longer safe. I have a farm in that area, and I can't go there anymore because of insecurity," Abdullahi stated.

The ADC spokesman placed the blame squarely on the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), attributing the current challenges facing the country to what he described as the party's ineffective policies. According to him, these policies have significantly worsened the living conditions of ordinary Nigerians.

Abdullahi emphasized that the ADC was established to provide Nigerians with a better alternative to the current administration, with a focus on addressing the pressing issues of poverty, hunger, and insecurity plaguing the nation.

"Nigerians are already suffering. People know they can't continue like this. The real work now is to convince them that we, in ADC, are truly different and can fix these problems," he added.

This revelation comes at a time when security concerns continue to mount across various regions of Nigeria, with agricultural activities being particularly affected as farmers increasingly abandon their lands due to safety concerns.

The situation in Kwara, previously considered one of Nigeria's more peaceful states, highlights the expanding reach of insecurity beyond the traditional hotspots in the northern and central regions of the country.

Political analysts note that security challenges will likely feature prominently in upcoming political discussions as opposition parties like the ADC continue to highlight these issues in their criticism of the current administration.
