The Southern Delta University (SDU) in Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area, has taken disciplinary action against 19 students for various offenses ranging from attempted murder to forgery and examination malpractice.
According to an official bulletin released by the university management on July 4, 2025, eight students have been expelled while eleven others have been rusticated for two semesters each.
Expelled Students
The expelled students, who were found guilty of gross misconduct including kidnapping, attempted murder, stealing, alteration of bank drafts, and creation of fake school receipts, have been identified as:
Okwoero Prince Okeoghene – 200 level Accounting
Peter Favour Ezechukwu – 400 level Library and Information Science
Oyenike Omorodion Abraham – 200 level Environmental Management
Akpedafe Samson – HND Conversion Student
Emeofagbe Faith Oghenekome – 300 level Library and Information Science
Tosin Falayi – 100 level Public Administration
Favour Oghenekaro – 200 level Mechanical Engineering
Sunday Othuke – 100 level Entrepreneurship
The university management has warned that these expelled students are no longer considered members of the institution and are prohibited from being found within or around the university premises.
Rusticated Students
Additionally, eleven students have been rusticated for two semesters each. They include:

Kingdom Israel Emamoke – 200 level Marine Engineering
Okonkwo Ugochukwu – 300 level Computer Engineering
Oyewale Victory – 300 level Petroleum and Gas Engineering
Lagos Isaac Onakpoma – 200 level Material and Metallurgical Engineering
Big Israel – 200 level Geology
Daniel Boulagha – 200 level Statistics
Onogbiechere Judith Ogheneyerowo – 300 level Business Administration
Inono Sanford Oghenekevwe – 200 level Computer Science
Odiakose Moses Victor – 200 level Computer Science
Odiri Abraham Efemena – 200 level Civil Engineering and Water Resources
These rusticated students have been instructed to vacate the university premises and their halls of residence for the duration of their punishment.
Warning Against Graduation Misconduct
As the university's maiden graduation ceremony approaches, the management has also issued a stern warning against organizing unlawful parties, pouring water on fellow students, and signing on students' shirts during the signing-out ceremony. The bulletin emphasized that any student caught engaging in such activities would face appropriate disciplinary action.
The university's decisive action underscores its commitment to maintaining discipline and upholding the values that students pledged to observe during their matriculation oath.
