The entire structure of the Labour Party (LP) in Ogbadibo Local Government Area has been officially dissolved and fully integrated into the African Democratic Congress (ADC), marking a significant shift in the local political landscape.

The major political realignment was announced during an expanded stakeholders' meeting held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, where prominent leaders, members, and grassroots supporters of the Labour Party declared their unanimous support for the ADC.

Strategic Decision Behind the Merger

According to party insiders, the decision came after weeks of extensive consultations and careful reflection on the current state of national affairs. A communique released after the meeting described the mass defection as a "bold and strategic decision" driven by a shared determination to rescue Nigeria from what they termed persistent hardship and failed governance under the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led federal administration.

"The decision to collapse the Labour Party structure into the ADC in Ogbadibo LGA is a result of deep reflection and collective willpower. We believe the ADC offers a more people-oriented, transparent, and progressive political alternative," stated one of the stakeholders at the meeting.

The gathering, which had in attendance former LP ward executives, youth leaders, women coordinators, and community mobilizers from across the local government, concluded with a declaration of total loyalty to the African Democratic Congress moving forward.

Official Confirmation and Future Implications

Agada Onu, Director of New Media and Strategic Communication to Hon. Domfrank Ochigbo, confirmed the merger and emphasized its significance in the political landscape.

"This bold and strategic decision stems from the collective resolve to rescue Nigeria from the failed leadership and widespread hardship caused by the APC-led administration," Onu explained.

He further noted that the move aims to build a stronger political base that prioritizes the needs of the people and advances true democratic values at both local and national levels.

This development comes amid growing opposition realignment ahead of future elections, with various political groups seeking to form stronger coalitions against the ruling party.
