The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that it will set the 2025 admission cut-off marks for tertiary institutions on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.
The announcement was made on Wednesday through JAMB's official X handle, confirming that the annual policy meeting will establish minimum UTME scores required for admission into universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and monotechnics across Nigeria.
"The 2025 Policy Meeting holds on 8th July, 2025 at Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja. The policy meeting is the gathering of stakeholders where policy guidelines and other relevant regulations on admission are discussed and ratified for the next academic year," JAMB stated.
Key Decisions Expected at the Meeting
The policy meeting brings together critical stakeholders in Nigeria's education sector, including vice-chancellors, rectors, and provosts from various tertiary institutions. During this gathering, they will collectively:
Determine minimum UTME scores (cut-off marks) for different categories of institutions
Establish admission guidelines and timelines for the 2025/2026 academic session
Set deadlines for registration and application processes
Recognize and announce top-performing candidates from the 2025 UTME
While attendance at the policy meeting is strictly by invitation, JAMB has assured that interested members of the public can follow the proceedings through live coverage on the Board's social media platforms.
This annual meeting is particularly significant for the millions of candidates who sat for the 2025 UTME, as it will determine the minimum scores they need to secure admission into their preferred institutions.
