Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, temporarily stepped away from politics on Sunday to attend the Graduation and Prize-Giving ceremony at Pacesetters' School in Abuja, where he advocated for a comprehensive curriculum review focused on entrepreneurship education.

During his address, Atiku emphasized that Nigeria must make deliberate investments in education to unlock the country's human capital potential, foster national unity, and accelerate development.

"Education is the most powerful weapon for human development," Atiku stated, highlighting how quality education empowers young people to pursue careers as engineers, doctors, or whatever profession they aspire to.

Personal Educational Journey

The former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) reflected on his own life journey, attributing his success to the strong foundation provided by education. He encouraged the graduating students to remain focused as they pursue higher learning.

Atiku also shared a personal anecdote about his secondary school days in 1961, when American Peace Corps teachers arrived after British teachers departed Nigeria following independence.

"They played a significant role in shaping my academic foundation. That influence stayed with me and inspired me to adopt an American-style curriculum in my own schools," he revealed.

The former Vice President's call for curriculum reform comes at a time when Nigeria faces significant youth unemployment challenges, making entrepreneurship education increasingly relevant for economic growth and job creation.
