Lauren Sánchez has shared the first official photographs from her extravagant wedding to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. The lavish ceremony, held in Venice, Italy, has quickly been dubbed a "century wedding" due to its opulence and high-profile guest list.
The celebrations, which spanned three days, attracted global elites and celebrities from various industries. Among the distinguished guests were Oprah Winfrey, Kim and Khloe Kardashian, Bill Gates, Tom Brady, Queen Rania of Jordan, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Ivanka Trump with husband Jared Kushner.
A Stunning Bridal Look
In her post-wedding Instagram debut, Sánchez, who now goes by Lauren Sánchez Bezos, showcased a breathtaking full-length lace Dolce & Gabbana gown. The dress featured a mermaid silhouette, high-neck collar, and long sleeves, creating an elegant and timeless bridal look.
A second post captured the couple exiting their intimate outdoor ceremony to cheers from their guests. Bezos complemented his bride in a classic black tuxedo as they celebrated their union at a cloister behind Venice's Chiesa della Madonna dell'Orto.
Celebration Amid Controversy
While the main reception is scheduled for Saturday at the historic Arsenale, a former shipyard transformed into an art venue, the wedding has not been without controversy. Greenpeace and other Venetian activist groups staged protests against Bezos' presence, displaying large banners and organizing demonstrations. The protesters accused the billionaire of tax avoidance and contributing to Venice's overtourism problems.
Despite these criticisms, Venice Deputy Mayor Simone Venturini praised the city's ability to manage high-profile events and noted that Bezos has previously contributed to local heritage preservation efforts.
Sources close to the couple suggest that while the Italian ceremony may not be legally binding due to location restrictions, Bezos and Sánchez likely formalized their marriage in the United States before the European celebration.
The wedding comes nearly four years after Bezos stepped down as Amazon CEO to focus on his philanthropic initiatives and space ventures through Blue Origin.
