The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has expressed serious concern over the low turnout of candidates who have printed their examination notification slips for the upcoming mop-up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
According to a statement released by JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin on Friday, June 27, only 12,442 out of the 98,232 registered candidates have printed their slips as of Friday morning, representing just 12.6% of the total expected participants.
Critical Requirement for Examination Participation
"We strongly encourage all candidates, particularly those who missed the main examination, to print their notification slips promptly. This is a rare opportunity for them to participate in this year's examination," Benjamin stated.
The 2025 UTME mop-up examination is scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 2025. JAMB emphasized that the notification slip is an essential requirement for candidates to gain access to examination centers.
"The Board has deployed both human and material resources to facilitate this exercise, ensuring that all registered candidates have the opportunity to sit the examination," the spokesperson added.
Consequences of Non-Compliance
JAMB has made it clear that failure to print the examination notification slip will result in candidates forfeiting their opportunity to take the examination. The Board is actively monitoring the printing process to determine the likely attendance for tomorrow's examination.
This mop-up examination represents a second chance for candidates who missed their initially scheduled UTME dates. The Board has urged all affected candidates to immediately print their slips to avoid missing this final opportunity.
