The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has described himself as "the luckiest politician in Nigeria" during the commissioning of a newly constructed road in Abuja on Friday.
Speaking at the event where the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, represented President Bola Tinubu, Wike expressed gratitude for the consistent support he receives from friends across various states.
"I don't think there is any politician who is so lucky like me that each time we are doing something in Abuja, all my friends from my state, from your state, from Abia to Enugu, Sokoto and Cross River, name them, they all come," Wike stated.
Infrastructure Development Milestone
The event marked the commissioning of the Arterial Road N5 (Obafemi Awolowo Way) from Life Camp Junction to Ring Road III (RR3), a significant infrastructure project completed as part of activities commemorating President Tinubu's second year in office.
During his speech, Wike took a moment to acknowledge the attendees, asking them to "take a bow before Mr. President" and describing them as "worthy of commendation." He specifically thanked the people of Rivers State and Nigerians in general for their support.
The commissioning ceremony is one of several events planned to showcase infrastructure developments under the current administration, highlighting ongoing efforts to improve transportation networks within the Federal Capital Territory.
Wike, who has maintained a visible presence in the political landscape since his appointment as FCT Minister, continues to emphasize infrastructure development as a cornerstone of his administration's focus in Abuja.
