Former US President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, claiming the US knows his exact location.
According to reports, Trump held crisis talks with his security advisers on Tuesday to discuss the ongoing conflict. Following these discussions, he is reportedly considering military strikes against Iranian nuclear sites, including the fortified facility in Fordow.
In a message posted on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote: "We know exactly where the so-called 'Supreme Leader' is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there – We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now."
The former president added, "But we don't want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin."
This threatening rhetoric comes after Trump advised Iran to consider "unconditional surrender" as tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate. The situation has become increasingly volatile, with reports of Israeli operations in Iran expected to expand, according to army intelligence chiefs.
Meanwhile, the European Union has indicated it will play a role in seeking a resolution to the conflict. However, Trump has reportedly dismissed ceasefire proposals, instead pushing for what he describes as a "real end" to Iran's nuclear threat.
The conflict has already resulted in casualties, with reports of an Iranian state television employee being killed in an Israeli strike. Additionally, Iran has confirmed a cyberattack disrupted Bank Sepah services, following claims from a hacker group with alleged links to Israel.
As the situation develops, regional stability remains precarious with multiple fronts of conflict emerging across diplomatic, military, and cyber domains.
