Popular Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has expressed outrage over the recent massacre in Yelewata, Benue State, where suspected herdsmen militia reportedly killed over 100 people.
The musician took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday morning to voice his shock and dismay, particularly highlighting the case of a woman who lost all five of her children in the brutal attack.
"What's happening in Benue is insane. Ahn ahn. A woman lost her five kids. Na film?" the rapper wrote, questioning the horrific reality of the situation.
Growing Concerns Over Benue Security Situation
Odumodublvck's reaction comes amid increasing public concern over the security situation in Benue State, where communities have suffered repeated attacks in recent months.
The Yelewata massacre has drawn reactions from various public figures, including religious leaders like Apostle Johnson Suleman and Pastor Paul Adefarasin, who have called for immediate action to address the killings.
Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has also criticized President Bola Tinubu's administration for not visiting Benue amid the ongoing violence, suggesting there is "no value for human lives" in the government's response.
Meanwhile, Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has suggested the killings might be reprisal attacks, echoing President Tinubu's earlier statement on the matter. The governor has also controversially blamed some villagers for allegedly showing attackers the way to communities.
In response to rising insecurity, the Chairman of Agatu Local Government Area in Benue has banned logging activities in the region.
