Notorious terrorist leader Bello Turji and his gang launched a deadly attack on Tozai community in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State on Sunday night, leaving five people dead and three others injured.

According to security analyst Bakatsine, who shared details of the incident on X (formerly Twitter), the invasion was particularly violent. "Yesterday night, notorious bandit leader Bello Turji and his gang attacked Tozai community in Isa LGA, Sokoto State. Five people were killed and three others injured in the deadly invasion," the analyst reported.

Military Issues Warning to Turji

This attack comes just weeks after Nigeria's military high command issued a stern warning to Bello Turji, declaring that his "days are numbered." The military's statement followed another attack by Turji on farmers in Lugu town, also in Isa Local Government Area, where 11 individuals were reportedly killed.

BenriNews previously reported that the Lugu town attack occurred shortly after Turji returned from a Sallah visit to a community in Isa, highlighting the terrorist's continued presence and operations in the region despite military threats.

Rising Insecurity in Sokoto State

This latest attack adds to a growing list of security incidents in Sokoto State. Recent weeks have seen multiple violent episodes, including an explosion in Gwabro village that claimed six lives and another incident where Lakurawa terrorists' explosive devices killed six men and injured three women.

Security forces have reportedly been working to dismantle the Lakurawa terror network operating across Kebbi and Sokoto states, though these recent attacks demonstrate the persistent security challenges facing the region.

Local authorities are yet to release an official statement regarding the latest attack on Tozai community or any planned response to the escalating violence.
