A grassroots political organization, the PBAT Door-2-Door Movement, has announced ambitious plans to mobilize at least 10 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 general elections, citing the president's transformative leadership over the past two years.
The group, led by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, made this declaration during a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday.
Grassroots Mobilization Strategy
National Coordinator of the movement, Comrade Sunday Adekanbi, revealed that Tompolo, who serves as the Grand Patron, will spearhead a nationwide campaign engaging Nigerians at all levels—from political stakeholders to traditional rulers and ordinary citizens.
"Today, we announce that High Chief Tompolo will lead a nationwide campaign to engage political stakeholders, traditional leaders, and citizens ward by ward, street by street, and home by home to ensure that President Tinubu's vision for a prosperous Nigeria is understood and embraced," Adekanbi stated.
According to him, the movement is founded on the belief that genuine change begins at the community level, with a commitment to building a robust support network for the president's leadership.
Praise for Tinubu's Leadership
Adekanbi lauded President Tinubu's achievements during his first two years in office, describing his leadership as unparalleled in vision, courage, and resolve.
"In just two years, President Tinubu has demonstrated unparalleled vision, courage, and resolve, positioning Nigeria as a global economic powerhouse and a beacon of democratic governance," he remarked.
The coordinator highlighted what he termed as "bold reforms and transformative policies" implemented by the Tinubu administration, which he claimed have established a solid foundation for sustainable growth, prosperity, and national unity.
"We stand in awe of his unrelenting drive to deliver the dividends of democracy to every Nigerian, regardless of region, religion, or socioeconomic background," Adekanbi added.
Tompolo's Role in the Campaign
The group emphasized that Tompolo, described as the Ibe-Ebidouwei of the Ijaw Nation, will play a pivotal role in galvanizing support across different regions of the country.
"His leadership will galvanize support across regions, uniting Nigerians behind a leader who has proven his capacity to deliver," said Adekanbi, adding that Tompolo's mobilization efforts would focus on promoting the president's policies, championing unity, and countering misinformation about the administration's reforms.
The coordinator further revealed that Tompolo's belief in the Renewed Hope Agenda stems from President Tinubu's track record as Lagos State Governor and his achievements since assuming the presidency.
In his closing remarks, Adekanbi called on all Nigerians to join the movement in sustaining what he described as the current momentum of progress under President Tinubu's leadership.
"We call on all Nigerians to join us in this movement to sustain the momentum of progress and secure a brighter future under President Tinubu's leadership. Together, we will build a Nigeria that is prosperous, united, and globally respected," he concluded.
