Former Real Madrid star Geremi has dismissed any possibility of Cristiano Ronaldo making a return to the Premier League, stating that the Portuguese icon's time in English football is definitively over.

The Cameroonian ex-footballer believes the 40-year-old Ronaldo can no longer meet the physical demands of England's top flight due to his age and reduced mobility.

"His time in the Premier League is over. The Premier League is too demanding, he is 40 years old, and it wouldn't be the same as doing it once in a while in international games," Geremi told BoyleSports.

Geremi went further to predict that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner will hang up his boots after the 2025-26 season, saying: "I think he's going into his last year in football."

Ronaldo's Premier League Legacy

Ronaldo enjoyed two spells at Manchester United (2003-2009 and 2021-2022), accumulating impressive statistics during his time in England. The veteran goalscorer netted 145 goals and provided 65 assists in 346 appearances across all competitions for the Red Devils.

Currently, Ronaldo's contract with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr is set to expire at the end of the month. Despite previously indicating his intention to remain with the club, he has yet to sign a new deal.

The Portuguese captain continues to demonstrate his goal-scoring prowess even at 40, having scored 35 goals and provided four assists in 41 appearances across competitions for Al Nassr last season.

While Geremi's comments suggest Ronaldo's days in top European football are numbered, the forward's remarkable fitness and continued productivity indicate he still has much to offer, albeit perhaps not at the intensity required in the Premier League.
