Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North, has made a bold declaration of loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating he is "ready to die" to ensure the party's victory in upcoming elections.

Speaking to journalists at his country home in Igbere, Abia State, the former governor emphasized his commitment to delivering the state to President Bola Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 elections.

"APC is strong in Abia. Like I said in my interview, I am ready to lay down my life for the party. I am a member of the party and a strong one at that. I am APC to the core. That's why APC is strong in Abia North," Kalu stated.

The former Senate Chief Whip expressed confidence in the party's ability to secure victory in the state, adding, "Our party will work hard to deliver the President in the state. We have done it in the past, and we will do it again in 2027."

Economic Recovery Under Tinubu

Kalu also voiced optimism about Nigeria's economic prospects under President Tinubu's administration. He maintained that the President's achievements over the past two years provide sufficient reason for Nigerians to support him.

"The economy needs time to bounce back. The President is working to ensure that the economy bounces back," he said, expressing confidence that Tinubu's efforts would help the naira regain its value.

The senator's remarks come amid ongoing discussions about party alignments and strategies ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the APC looking to consolidate its position in the Southeast region where it has historically faced challenges.

Kalu, who previously served as Abia State governor from 1999 to 2007, remains an influential political figure in the state and has been a vocal supporter of President Tinubu's administration.
