Popular Nigerian actor and content creator, Adebowale Adedayo, widely known as Mr Macaroni, has disclosed that he has consistently rejected invitations to associate with politicians at federal, state, and local government levels, including those from President Bola Tinubu's administration.

The revelation comes amid public comparisons between him and chess master Tunde Onakoya, who recently faced criticism following his visit to President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa.

In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Mr Macaroni emphasized that his personal stance should not be used as a standard to judge other celebrities who choose to engage with political figures.

"I have said this times without number! I am nobody's Hero!! I am not a saint!!! Na all of us get our own for body! APC Rascals have always pushed the narrative that I have something against anyone that visits Political Leaders and I have always made it clear that I have nothing against it. I have never criticized anyone for doing so," he wrote.

The content creator further clarified his position, stating: "That I don't care for Politicians doesn't make me the good guy. And it certainly doesn't make those that do bad. It's a matter of preference. It is unfair to hold others by these standards."

No Compromise with Politicians

Mr Macaroni, who has been vocal about governance issues in Nigeria, confirmed that he has received numerous invitations from political figures at various levels of government but has maintained his stance against associating with them.

"And yes to the APC rascals asking: Invitations choke on different levels!!! Local ooo, State ooo, Federal ooo… The list long!" he revealed.

He vowed to maintain his position, stating: "Invitations you people are slaving for!!! But I promise, you will continue to cry, weep and gnash your teeth because all will be continuously rejected!!! There shall be no compromise!"

The controversy highlights the ongoing debate about the role of celebrities and influencers in Nigerian politics, particularly regarding their relationships with political figures and how such associations might influence public perception.

Tunde Onakoya, who recently made headlines for breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon, has faced backlash from some quarters following his meeting with President Tinubu, illustrating the complex dynamics between public figures and political engagement in Nigeria.
