The Taraba State Government has announced the death of Dauda Maikomo, the Permanent Secretary of the Abuja Liaison Office, following a brief illness.

The announcement was made on Wednesday through a statement issued by Dr. Hamidu Ahmed Kara, the Head of Civil Service, on behalf of Governor Agbu Kefas.

Maikomo's death comes just days after the passing of Fidelis Kiagama, a federal permanent secretary who also hailed from Taraba State.

A Distinguished Public Servant

In the statement, Dr. Kara described the late Maikomo as "a committed public servant who made significant contributions to both the state government and the nation at large."

The Head of Civil Service praised Maikomo's leadership qualities, vision, and unwavering commitment to public service, noting that his absence would be deeply felt across Taraba State.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time," Dr. Kara said in the statement.

State Burial Planned

According to Dr. Kara, a state burial will be held in Maikomo's honor, with the date to be determined by the family.

The Taraba State Government has called on citizens to remember the late official's legacy and continue to be inspired by his service to the state and nation.

This loss marks another significant blow to the state's civil service, coming shortly after the death of Kiagama, who was also a high-ranking official from the state.
