Former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, has called on Nigerians, particularly those in public positions, to dedicate themselves to selfless service to God and humanity, emphasizing the importance of creating enduring legacies for future leaders to emulate.

Madumere made this appeal during the one-year memorial service for his late mother, Ugoeze Malinda Madumere, held at St. Luke's Anglican Church, Achi Mbieri, Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State.

Legacy of Service Over Position

The former Deputy Governor emphasized that what truly matters in life is not the positions people occupy but the positive impact they make on others' lives through those positions.

"We must re-examine our lives and reassess if they align with the purpose of God and humanity, as we must all give account of our stewardship at the end of the day," Madumere stated.

He lamented that greed has permeated every sphere of human engagement and suggested that self-reflection would help sanitize society.

Celebration of Faith and Legacy

The American-trained technocrat described the memorial service as not just a moment of reflection but also a celebration of faith, love, and the enduring legacy that characterizes the Madumere royal dynasty.

Prince Madumere expressed gratitude to God for his mother's life well-spent in service to God and humanity, noting that her values have influenced the lifestyle of the entire royal household.

The former Deputy Governor also used the occasion to pray for long life, prosperity, and divine protection for his family and the entire community.

Spiritual Admonition

Venerable Joshua Onwuliri of the Diocese of Owerri, speaking on the topic "Beware of Satanic Schemes" and drawing from Romans 4:23-24, urged the congregation to live Christ-like lives and maintain spiritual vigilance in anticipation of eternal life.

The outing service was led on behalf of the family by Prince Chijioke Madumere, the elder brother of the former State Deputy Governor.
