A federal lawmaker representing Dawakin Tofa/Tofa/Rimin Gado, Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe, has publicly accused Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Kano government Director General of Media and Publicity, of forming a secret alliance with the family of former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
In a viral video circulating online, the lawmaker launched a scathing attack on Bature, accusing him of engaging in anti-party activities through an alleged backdoor alliance with the Ganduje family, who are staunch opposition figures in the state.
Serious Allegations Against Government Spokesperson
"I am calling on the Kano State Governor, Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf: if you continue to work with Sanusi Bature as your spokesperson, and he returns to Dawakin Tofa to form alliances with Abba Ganduje, Ganduje's son, and Gwaggo (Ganduje's wife), then this issue must be addressed," Jobe stated in the video.
The lawmaker further accused the government spokesman of allegedly receiving kickbacks from Abba Ganduje, son of the former governor and a former House of Representatives candidate.
Jobe called on Bature to return to what he described as "the real values of the NNPP" (New Nigeria People's Party), claiming that the spokesperson was working against party interests in Dawakin Tofa.
"If Sanusi Bature is a true member of the NNPP, he should stop chasing away our party members and stop praising Abba Ganduje," the lawmaker added.
Escalating Tensions Between Political Figures
The conflict between the two political figures reportedly escalated after Bature took to his Facebook page to openly challenge the lawmaker, writing: "Tell Hon. Jobe that if he wants to fight, I am ready."
This public exchange highlights growing tensions within Kano's political landscape, particularly within the ruling NNPP, as allegations of divided loyalties emerge.
As of the time of reporting, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has not publicly responded to the allegations or the apparent conflict between the two party members.
