Pro-APC advocate Okezie Atani announced the passing via his X page, noting that the political figure is survived by his wife and children. "We lost Barr. Jesutega Onokpasa, may his soul rest in perfect peace," Atani wrote.

Onokpasa served as a member of the APC's Presidential Campaign Council during the 2023 general elections, where he made significant contributions to the party's Publicity Committee.
