Minister of Works, David Umahi, has publicly declared that his loyalty lies with God first and then President Bola Tinubu, stating that he takes instructions only from these two authorities.

Speaking to journalists in Abakaliki on Monday, Umahi was responding to President Tinubu's recent commendation of his achievements in infrastructure development across the country.

"I have told the President even publicly that my loyalty is to God first and then, him," Umahi stated. "When someone places the kind of trust in you that Tinubu has placed in me, it would be completely wrong and even devilish to betray that trust."

The minister emphasized that the presidential commendation was worth "more than one trillion dollars" to him, indicating it was confirmation he was on the right track with his infrastructure initiatives.

Trust and Accountability

Umahi highlighted the extraordinary level of trust placed in him by the President, particularly regarding major infrastructure projects.

"Have you seen where a man presided over the procurement of a project worth N1.6 trillion and his boss did not call him to ask how he went about it? I am talking about one section of the project depending on the length," he remarked.

The minister further stated that anyone who would betray Tinubu after receiving such level of trust and support would "provoke the anger of God."

Ongoing Infrastructure Projects

According to Umahi, contractors are under pressure to complete approximately 30 major projects, which President Tinubu is scheduled to inaugurate by December 20.

"I am actively engaged in the construction and inspection of projects spread across the six geo-political zones of the country," he added.

The minister pledged to continue praying for President Tinubu and for everyone who supports him and values his efforts in service to the Nigerian people.

"I pray every day that if I ever put myself, my family, or friends above God, Tinubu, and the Nigerian people, may God not answer my prayers," Umahi stated.
