Popular Nigerian R&B musician Darey Art Alade has lost his vehicle to a devastating fire incident that occurred on Friday on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State.

The singer's wife, Deola, broke the news on Instagram, confirming that while the car was completely destroyed, no lives were lost in the incident.

In a joint statement released on Saturday, the couple described the experience as "shocking" but expressed gratitude that their driver escaped unharmed.

"Material Things Unimportant in Face of Life"

"Yesterday, our car caught fire around 4pm on the 3rd Mainland Bridge & burnt to the ground," the statement read. "It was a shocking experience but we are grateful that the driver was safe, and that is what truly matters. No lives were lost."

The couple reflected on the incident's deeper meaning, adding: "This reminds us of how unimportant the material things becomes in face of life itself."

Video footage of the incident shared on social media shows the vehicle completely engulfed in flames on the busy Lagos bridge, which is one of the main arteries connecting Lagos Island to the mainland.

Darey Art Alade, son of the legendary Nigerian entertainer Art Alade, has been a prominent figure in Nigeria's music industry for years, known for hits like "Not The Girl" and "Pray For Me."

The Third Mainland Bridge has seen several incidents in recent times, including accidents and cases of vandalism, prompting authorities to increase security measures along the vital infrastructure.
